| Abstract: | The term "professional" is increasingly being used in management jargon. Here this "individual" described as the "professional" is defined and the origins of this term (alien so far to the field of management) and its characteristics are examined. Among others it is pointed out that a professional may be specified as the correspondence between his or her personal project and the missions trusted to him or her by the company. It is concluded that the development of a professional ethic could lead to an evolution towards organizational forms little explored to date. |
