| Abstract: | The authors report the results of an econometric simulation, using a multi- national model of macroeconomic variables of the leading OECD countries. The main question is whether Germany can be the "locomotive" for the world economy. On the one hand, German unification provides expansionary impulse for the world economy, on the other hand, driving up interest rates, contraction may induced. |
