Abstract:Negotiation instructors should remodel their practices to prepare students to succeed in the increasingly dynamic negotiation situations they are likely to face in current constantly changing business environment, by using simulations that are also dynamic. The paper reviews studies on adaptive thinking, and applies it to negotiation training. Examples of dynamic simulations that require students to adapt are presented. The paper also presents some suggestions on how to make existing cases dynamic by using “shocks and rumors."
