Abstract: | This study analyzes a process of managing occupational health (henceforth as: occp-health) care called value-based (here as: v-b.) health care (as: h-c.) (by Porter and Teisberg, in 2004 and 2006) the financial benefits of which are considered to a globally operating industrial company from Finland, the Metso Corporation. The focus is on the measurable advantages in terms of profitability. It is shown that the company has similar direct occp-health costs compared to the industrial average. However, the v-b. h-c. approach has had a positive effect on the company's profit and loss statement. The key to these results can be found in the management and governance method which the company has used to manage occp-health. |
