Abstract: | The views on corporate strategy of M. Porter, Harvard Business School's professor and author of the book "Competitive Strategy" are described. He explored the components of industrial structure and its interlinking with strategy. Porter's significant contribution was the elevation of business strategy to a respectable field and academic discipline of study. Strategy is "an integrative subject" combining finance, marketing, organizational behaviour, production and logistics. According to Porter, the direction of most areas of the economy is towards synergy, capturing the bond between business and swapping skills to unearth new profit sources. |
