Abstract:Since 1950, the bilateral trade between China and Germany has be increased from $ 19,420,000 to $14,380,000 in 1998 on the basis of the price in those years, 740 times increase. The course of development, including two steps forward and two steps' halt, is usually controlled by policy change or economic situation of the two country. To make further progress, the two countries should devote greater efforts. China should, first, pay close attention to the negotiation with EU. For entering into WTO, utilizing to the maximum the program giving China a "transition period" proposed by UN. Second, China should take active action to improve management of the whole industry. Third, China should devote efforts to absorb direct investment from Germany.
