Abstract:This study uses a discovery-oriented approach to examine innovation in the international marketplace. The findings are based on interviews with 64 senior executives including many current and former CEOs and presidents of multinational companies in five coutries. It has the following objectives: To examine new product development practies in an international context; To focus on the broad- based perspective of senior executives representing multiple industries; To focus on the practices of multinational companies that have significant market share in their categories; To uncover novel insights about international innmovation; To provide new directions for reseachers to investigate and validate about international innovation.
