| Abstract: | This article deals with international markets of commodities. Dealt with are e.g. concentration trends, intensity of competition, and implications of concentration for commodity markets. There is also information on takeovers, mergers and privatisations in global mining industry from 1987 to 1998, concentration of mining output for selected raw materials by country in 1996, output and export of selected metallic raw materials 1986, 1991 and 1996, ore reserves of selected minerals 1992 and 1996, leading mining countries' shares of global ore researves and global output in 1996, and global consumption of selected metals btw. 1986 and 1996 and estimated consumption in 2006. |
