Abstract:In this article, developed are parallels btw. philosophical theories of virtue and the concept of moral identity, as developed in social cognitive identity theory (here as: s-c-i-th). Explicating notions of virtue and moral agency (as: m-agy.) in terms of s-c-i-th., in turn, helps direct attention to a range of factors, incl. both organizational and extra-organizational, macro-cultural ones, that can inhibit or foster m-agy. in organizations.
