Kotter chronicles the key events in Matsushita's life and the lessons they hold for companies entering the 21st century. Konosuke Matsushita's biggest contribution may be as a management pioneer because decades before forthcoming management science trends, Matsushita wrote the book on leadership, risk taking and innovative marketing. But also he grew a business from startup to $42 billion in revenues, he created hundreds of thousands of jobs and a brand (Panasonic) known to people around the globe. His personal wealth was more than $3 billion.
