Abstract: | The growth of snowmobiling brings challenges to how commons should be governed. This article analyses two case studies from Sweden and USA to examine how local governance institutions can reduce conflicts among snowmobilers and landowners. The results show that there must be trail agreements between snowmobile clubs and landowners, and that mobilers should be encouraged to join clubs. The public and private sector should invest in quality trails. |
