| Abstract: | The case of Bouygues has made a rapid rise in the construction sector, proves the usefulness of taking into account both the sector's economy and the company culture. It serves as an example in the analysis of the careers of the industrial elite. Inheritance is no more sufficient than the education, human relations capital or nearness to centres of power in the State. All these are necessary for establishing a typology. The style of management, the company culture, the mastery of a basic trade or skill, the faculty of anticipating the future are among the qualities of entrepreneurs that are seldom taken into account. The need of a more complete analysis of changes in leadership is emphasized. |
