Abstract: | Previous research on mail survey responses has been focused on consumer and/or student population; the present study addresses industrial firms. The response rate and associated costs of the prenotified and non-prenotified groups, response speed and item omissions are presented, responding firms and response content is analyzed. Postcard prenotofication of commercial respondents is considered a valuable tool, the differences in response rates between prenotified and non-prenotified firms is significant. Results indicate that the method may be cost-effective and can generate faster responses. |
