| Abstract: | This is a comprehensive revision of the mass media landscape in the US in the eighties complete with detailed statistics. New developments are among others: the cable TV, more TV sets per household, zapping between programs using distance controller, more films are viewed thanks to video recorders, radio falls behind, a short-time boom for newspapers. |
