Abstract:After a long era of ex lex Italy adopted in August of 1990 a media law called law Mammi after the minister of post and telecommunication. The law has antitrust provisions, regulates the distribution of frequency, limits the time used for TV and radio advertisement, the share of non-European production etc. The law was criticised from several respects: it sanctions the status quo (the Berlusconi imperium Fininvest remains intact), newspapers are not covered by the law, satellite TV neither etc.
