Abstract:Appearance of satellite television does not influence significantly the existing terrestrial TV-system in the UK. BSkyB is the biggest British satellite TV offering a wide range of programmes but the station is truggling with losses. Terrestrial TV and video seem to be serious rivals to satellite TV and its popularity depends on the diversity of the programmes.
