| Abstract: | The CMB group, like many firms, responded to the uncertainty of the business with flexibility. Flexibility needs highly skilled staff, that is a multi-skilled workforce. To achieve multi-skilled training a major shift in management style had to be carried out. The article describes how this has been done discussing topics like plant bargaining, training boards, and skills payments. |
