Abstract:Case studies are presented showing that when retailers, manufacturers and logistics service companies team up, everyone wins. They prove that, as especially the alliance of Robin Transport and General Motors in the development of better truck trailers, the kind of business alliances in logistics is beneficiary for both parties. Often one party is a product marketer, and the other principal is a distributor or warehousing specialist. To melt parts of two organizations into one smooth-running operation, however, is not easy, but trust is necessary.
