Abstract:The market size for dried fruit in 1999 was £106mn. Tree fruit accounted for £57mn of sales and vine fruit for £49mn. Sultanas are the major vine fruits, while apricots and prunes are the leading tree fruits. Imports of dried fruit were worth £138mn in 1998. Turkey is the leading supplier, being the main source of sultanas, apricots and figs. Household consumption of dried fruit is stable.
