Abstract: | Assuming that training is an appropriate answer to a given organizational or performance problem, instructional design is focused upon and described in its relation with learning theories. First, instructional design is defined and its essential components are described. Then two important learning theories are scrutinized, namely the behaviourist approach and the cognitive interpretation of learning. Finally, a comparison is made between the two types of instructional design, in order to highlight the necessity of implementing learning theory into instructional design. |
