Abstract: | Most of the past studies pertaining to fertility and mortality issues vis-a-vis the women's schooling, labor force participation, contraceptive use, and some other variables suffer from a few major deficiencies. This study fills an important empirical gap by: (1) undertaking an a comprehensive cross-country study of fertility and mortality relationships with the help of an expanded econometric model; and (2) estimating the relationships with the help of a most recent data set gathered from a much wider range of developing countries. |
