Abstract:The author analyses and researches the "ex-nihilo" creation of money supply.Deriving from the principal functions of the banking system, the author goes on to shed light on the genesis of certain simple as well as more and more sophisticated ways and methods of doing this. In this way the author explains the formation of purchasing power, which on behalf and to the disadvantage of all the population goes into the hands of those who are directly or indirectly involved in the operations conducted in banks.By analytically classifying different monetary parameters of Slovenia, the author establishes the size of the permanently alienated purchasing power, on the one hand, and the interest return which the population has been deprived of, on the other. The author claims that the credit system which allows such malversations is economically biased and unjust. Since the purchasing power, which has been permanently alienated from the population, can not be returned to the people, the state being its representative gets the profit. However, this could drastically decrease the high taxes of the population. The author is in favour of the credit and banking system reform.
