Abstract: | The results presented in this article represent a first attempt to test for a relationship between export success and the employment of foreign language specialists within New Zealand companies. Perhaps the major limitation of the findings is represented by the differences in overseas market servicing mode between the two sample groups: award winning companies and non-award winners. Our findings also have important implications for universities and other institutions preparing foreign language specialists. Our findings also suggest that it may be useful for New Zealand language graduates to seek overseas business experience at some stage |
