| Abstract: | The success of Hongkong's economy over the last 20 years is remarkable, achieving real rates of growth of GDP that are high by international and historical standards. The growth of Hongkong has seen it develop as a genuinely worldclass financial centre with 85 of the top 100 banks operating there with the world's fifth largest foreign exchange market and eighth largest stock market. The Territory holds some of the most profitable banks in the world, such as Hang Seng bank. |
