Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to outline the benefits that are claimed for meeting the ISO 9000 accreditation requirements and to match those benefits against the actual experiences of U. K. hospitality firms achieved accreditation. The authors wanted to find out whether more businesses in one sector of the industry achieved accreditation than businesses in another sector, the reasons for applying for accrediation, and the benefits, if any, gained from accreditation.
