| Abstract: | The study provides a content analysis of quality newspapers in five EU member states from 20 years revealing common trends acros different countries but no convergence over time. Four patterns of Europeanization are identified. The research identifies and tests factors that explain these differences in newspaper coverage. In-depth case analysis and regression analysis show e.g. that the editorial mission of a newspaper and the size of the member state it is situated in have significant effect on patterns of Europeanization. |
