Abstract:Exchanges all over the world do their best to extend trading hours or link up with each other. But this is not a simple task. It can be tricky reconciling regulations in different countries. Links-up between unequal partners do not function satisfactorily. Reuters and CME have agreed to automate on-screen trading of financial futures an and options while the Chicago market is closed. Another solution is to extend the daily hours. However, even in New York there were no early trains to bring bankers to the City. Another problem is the physical endurance of the personnel.
