| Abstract: | Penetrating foreign markets by means of acquisition is not a traditional strategy for the Japanese company. But it might be of some interest in the future with forcoming Merger Control Regulation of the European Economic Community. The practical implications of the new regulation are analyzed. The actual lack of a uniform system of company law is remarked. Multinationals are always organized at a national level and not yet at the level of the European Economic Community. It is doubted that 1992 will harmonize a common companies code and it is concluded that companies will have to continue their country per country approach. |
