| Abstract: | Systems analysts and management still often ignore the significance of qualitative benefits when evaluating information systems development project proposals. Several methods exist for identifying the intangible benefits of today's decision support systems and presenting their potential impact on management. Some of these methods are outlined. The expected value of quality IS is given in tabular form. Factors to consider value of quality IS are discussed, and proving the cases for quality IS are illustrated by a cost analysis method with numerical data. The excess tangible cost method is shown in detail. |
