| Abstract: | Many experts doubt the market viability of DBS both in Europe and the U.S. European DBS will be launching its first operating satellite, Astra in Nov.1988. A year later BSB will follow. Some say DBS has a large potential market in Europe, others say even the existing 25 satellite channels are unable to make money. The lack of transmission standard impede DBS systems. The problem of receive equipment is to be solved. |
