| Abstract: | The article investigates the causes why intra-industry trade, rising so rapidly in previous decades, levelled off recently. A function explaining intra- industry trade by product specialisation , consumer preferences, scale economies and trade agreements is estimated on data from l6 OECD countries. It turns out that only trade agreements work for intra-industry trade, the other factors do not. |
