Abstract:Singapore continues to develop its status as a financial centre for Southeast Asia. Its success can perhaps best be measured by the achievements of the relative newcomer, Simex - the Singapore International Monetary Exchange - which in September celebrates its 10th anniversary. As it prepared to toast the passing of its first decade, Simex announced that on an average day it handles up to 100,000 contracts, a record when its short history is taken into account.
