| Abstract: | With a serial of preferential policies given by the central government for developing Pudong New Area's financial function, Lujiazui's financial buildings have been established one after another and the environment of financial centre area improved gradually. Lujiazui area is becoming a place where both domestic and foreign financial institutions are converging. By the end of Sept. 1998, there had been 18 Chinese banks, 11 Chinese financial institutions and 29 foreign banks, 7 foreign financial institutions in Pudong. Among the foreign banks, 17 banks are permitted to deal in RMB there. |
