Abstract:What, if anything, does complexity theory have to say to managers? Before trying to give an answer to this question we need to know what managers look for in a management theory. Then we can show that complexity theory can offer a similar benefit, by explaining the importance of history to organisations. Complexity theory is very much a work in progress. This article has been written to give people an insight into that progress.
