Abstract: | Over the years, the public has placed a high level of confidence, trust, and reliance on the accounting profession. With very few exceptions, we have demonstrated objectivity and integrity, making the independent accountant's role essential to the US capital markets and economy as a whole. The livelihood and profession are being threatened, however , it is necessary to accept part of the blame. As a profession, accountants are often the only defendant with the financial resources. |
