Abstract: | Management at General Marble, a manufacturer of bathroom countertops and vanities, realized that falling customer service levels and increasing inventories indicated that the company faced serious profitability problems. Working in concert with outside consultants, they enlisted diverse reengineering teams, revamped financial processes, manufacturing systems, procurement, and quality management, and within 6 months the company accomplished many of its objectives. |
