| Abstract: | Unemployment has been a major economic, political and social problem in many countries over the past two decades. One of the strengths of social and psychological research on unemployment in the 1930s was that findings became available from a range of countries throughout continental Europe as well as from English-speaking countries, especially Britain and the United States. The position appears to have been rather different in recent decades. |
