| Abstract: | The main reasons for the current unemployment in China are: 1, the continuing growth of labour supply, which increases the pressure on employment; 2. the wider margin by which the industrial structure is adjusted, leading to the increased unemployment; 3. the uninterrupted sci-tech progress. Some original labour-intensive enterprises have gradually realized modernization. As a result, it will be more and more apparent that machines will squeeze human beings out in China. The countermeasures to ease the pressure on employment are as follows: 1. developing labour-intensive tertiary industries in rural areas to digest rural surplus labours, 2. establishing and perfecting the system of unemployment relief, 3.reducing and eliminating employment in the course of reform and development. |
