| Abstract: | According to statistics, there were 11.50 million laid-off workers in cities and towns in 1997. They were all concentrated in enterprises, accounting for 97.5% of the total laid-off workers. This paper makes an analysis in regard to the financial condition, industrial and regional distributions, educational level, age and sex of laid-off workers. Then it raises some policy suggestions on how to promote the re-employment of laid-off workers. |
