Abstract:In the past five years, more than 300 comprehensive large-sized exhibition centres or halls have been built up. Most of them are concentrated in the more advanced cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Shenyang and Shenzhen. In Shanghai, for instance, the travelling traders who have participated in the national commodity fairs in the five years have numbered over 0.4 million with volume of business reaching 27 billion yuan. To make the newly-emerging industry continue to develop vigorously, we should strengthen union, say, establishing the national exhibition association to bring into play the function of "polymerization". Besides, we should increase investment in key projects to enhance the radiating function of exhibition halls and their competitiveness and also pay attention to the comprehensive service function.
