| Abstract: | Flexible working, one of the mantras of the previous government, has been taken up with zeal by its successor. But what does the term actually mean, and what is the relationship between flexibility, deregulation and unemployment? The government's call for deregulation may at best be a waste of effort - or at worst, a potential source of conflict. Education, education and education may be the priorities for the new government, but when it comes to employment policy, flexibility is its buzzword. |
