| Abstract: | This article approaches the question of protecting new innovations from imitation. In this study, the authors show how product and process patents influence on welfare and the profits that firms earn. A basic model about patent regimes is widened by the effects of cross-licensing and repeated game. Also the occurring of prisoner's dilemma is considered. |
