Abstract: | The music industry has been described as having high levels of uncertainty, human asset specificity, frequency of interaction and task complexity. Thus it can be stated that it is not easy to succeed in the music industry. This article explores the role of different types of networks, in determining the competitive performance of independent music labels. The article investigates a case of an Italian independent label, Mescal Music, that has been successful in both artistic and economic success in the Italian market. |
