Abstract:Codes of conduct have increased rapidly at supra- and sub-organisational levels in addition to company level. Yet, the former have remained an under-investigated area within the CSR literature, and therefore this article examined the range of organisational and sub-organisational codes FTSE100 constituent companies have developed. Two implications for CSR practice and research were found by isolating different types of codes. The whole range of codes at organisational and sub-organisational levels is what defies the CSR approach of a company, analysis of codes of conduct alone is not enough.
