Abstract: | All major search firms depend on their research departments for the basic list of names and contact information. They also get copies of suitable resumes from the files, use computer printouts, industry survey data indicating relative strengths and weaknesses of target firms and a wealth of tips and ideas from the files of previous assignments. There are cases in which it makes sense to follow the full search approach, but an increasing number of corporate employment managers are turning to independent researchers to reduce cost per hire while still seeking those candidates advertising cannot reach. |
