Abstract:Companies in the USA can no longer sit by the wayside and let their competitors outdo them in terms of benefits, perks and incentives. Job candidates now have more than just money. Providing childcare, paternity leave and flexible work schedules are just some of the ways companies are striving to stay competitive and keep employees happy in the 90s. Some examples are presented of how some companies are trying to satisfy the demands of the employees while preparing for the changing demographics. Some employees' benefit programs are presented, like that of Lost Arrow, Steelcas Inc., Polaroid Corp., IBM, Southern California Edison Co. Percentage of expected labor force in the year 2000 is shown.
