Abstract: | This chapter discusses an attempt by one of the world's largest commercial banks to transform itself in order to meet the demands of an extraordinary rapid expansion of its branch network and business. The narration will cover the circumstances surrounding the decision to undertake a strategic transformation of the bank, the broad objectives of the transformation, the approach to achieving that transformation and some reflections on the transformation experience which might be useful in such endeavors in other large organizations. |
