Abstract: | There is not much literature available regarding individuals and organizations who influence the environment within which multinationals operate, international development organisations. Ethical issues in the business of international development need to be assessed on two levels. The first involves macro-economic considerations. On this level dispassionate ethical absolutism applied to the use of economic tools to encourage stabilisation, liberalization and sustainable economic growth and development. The second is micro-ethical standard, applying to local development efforts and adhering to ethical relativist principles with the most important aspect being a high degree of cultural sensitivity. |
