Abstract:This essay argues that the deep reasons of East Asian financial crisis are the effect to gether of East Asian countries' imperfect bank system, weak financial supervising low efficiency of fund, serious economic foam, inflexible exchange rate system, weak ability of resisting risks, and so on. Developing countries pursue financial liberalization policy one after another in order to gain the international organizations' fund and technology help, stable exchange rate and financial situation, etc. Although this will do good to developing countries, there are also some risks. We can draw some enlightenments from it. First, it is the prerequisite for financial liberalization that the exchange rate system is flexible. Second, one of the conditions is sound domestic macro economy. Third, the important condition is interest rate marketisation, and so on.
