Abstract: | A concrete undestanding of the complex problem of soil erosion is lacking. This paper examines the problem in developing countries in order to understand the complex inter-relationships between population pressure, poverty and enviormental-institutional dynamics. The results indicate that negative impacts of technichal change, inappropriate government policies and poor institutions are largely responsible for the continued soil erosion in developing countries. |
